Blockade When one country tries to stop supplies from reachng another country
Central Powers Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey
Eastern Front The line of fighting between Germany and Russia
Fourteen Points Woodrow WIlson's plan for peace
Imperialism A race between European countries to control colonies in Africa and Asia
Militarism A race between countries to increase weapons and armies
Nationalism A strong feeling of loyalty to a country
Neutral When a country doesn't take sides during war time
Total War Describes the total use of weapons, materials, and men in World War I
Trench Warfare The type of fighting that resulted in a stalemate on the Western Front
USW All ships in the war zone could be torpedoed without warning by Germany
War Zone An area of water around the British Isles which was open to attack from Germany
Western Front The line of fighting from the North Sea to Switzerland
Sarajevo Town in which an assassination sparked the start of World War I
Versailles Place where the peace treaty was signed
