What is a major effect of deforestation in Brazil? extinction of plant and animal species
How has population growth contributed to smog in Mexico City? there are more automobiles
Which country has the Amazon River flow through it? Brazil
Which country is the largest island in the Caribbean? Cuba
What was the most expensive construction project in US history? Why was it done? P.S. It's the only cultural feature we learned. The Panama Canal - made trade with Asia & Europe possible for Latin American countries.
Why are Brazil's cities on the coastline? The economy depends on shipping. This is where the ports are.
Where do people in Cuba live? Most Cubans live and work in cities.
What is Brazil's environmental issue? Deforestation
What would limit clearcutting in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil? restricting cattle ranching so that trees aren't cut down.
Why does Cuba have to import food for its people? There's not enough land on the island to grow food for all its people.
Which mountains are located in Mexico? Sierra Madres
Environmental issue: Air Pollution. Which Latin American City is affected the most? Mexico City, Mexico
Which factor contributes to air pollution in Mexico City? the city's high elevation (the mountains trap the pollution)
How can air pollution be reduced in Mexico City? restrict industrial production in the city
Why does the destruction of the Amazon Rainforest threaten the world? 20% of the World's oxygen comes from the Amazon Rainforest
