Legislative Branch-- study for test!

QuestionAnswer
Who’s in it Congress. Held by the House of Representatives and the Senate.
House of Representatives 435 members. Members must be at least 25 years old, live in the States, were elected, and have been in the states for at least 7 years. Must serve for a 2 year term.
Senate 2 members per states. Must be at least 30 years old, have been US citizens for 9 years, and live in the state they represent. Serve for a 6-year term.
What does it do Writes laws, confirms the president’s appointments, approves treaties, grants money, and can declare war.
Checks on Executive May reject appointments or treaties. May vote against president.
Checks on Judicial May propose constitutional amendments to overrule the judicial decisions. Can bring charges over the Supreme Court justices.
