| Primary Source | A source that was created at the time an event took place or was written by someone who was there. |
| chronology | the order in which something happens |
| point of view | a personal opinion or attitude about a subject |
| Secondary Source | A source that was created after an event took place. |
| map | a visual representation of a place |
| history | a record of past events |
| surplus | an amount greater than what is needed |
| economy | the wealth of a nation, buying and selling of goods |
| canal | a narrow waterway dug for boat travel |
| amendment | an addition/change to the Constitution |
| ratify | to approve a law written by Congress |
| veto | to NOT approve a bill or law |
| legislature | a lawmaking group of people |
| civil rights | the right of all people to be treated equally under the law |
| assembly line | A system in which a convey belt brings part of a product to workers who then add another part |
| Bill of Rights | the first 10 amendments to the Constitution |
| Declaration of Independence | A document written during the American Revolution explaining why colonists wanted independence from British Rule. |
