QuestionAnswer
When did the women get the right to vote and under which amendment did so? In 1920 under the 19th amendment.
Why was slavery more apparent in the South? The South's businesses where almost all agricultural based and labor intensive. These types of jobs typically utilized slavery.
How did the compromises made pre-Civil War further sectionalism? Compromises that added free and slaves states furthered sectionalism because it allowed slavery to grow.
Who favored the protective tariff? The North because the South felt they were harmed directly by having to pay more for imports from Europe.
Where was the Confederacy's capital? Richmond, Virginia
What were some advantages for the North? South North --> Larger population, more factories to produce goods, and more railroads South --> Many strong military leaders
What was the US' main goal for fighting in the Civil War? To preserve the Union, eventually shifted to free slaves but even so Lincoln was reluctant to say out out right.
