The Constitution

TermDefinition
Virginia Plan created a bicameral legislature with both houses representatives based on population.
New Jersey Plan created a unicameral legislature with equal number of votes for all states.
Great Compromise Created a bicameral legislature. The House of Representatives would have votes based on population, and the Senate received equal votes for all states.
3/5 Compromise Each slave would count as three fifths of a person towards the population
Unicameral Legislature Law making body made up of one house
Bicameral Legislature law making body made up of two houses
Bill of Rights The First Ten Amendments to the Constitution that guaranteed personal liberties. Added to appease the Anti - Federalists
Anti Federalists this groups believed the Constitution gave too much power to the central government and feared that it did not guarantee personal liberties.
Federalists This group believed the Constitution offered a good balance of power and did not need to be modified.
