| Jesus Christ | A Jew born in Bethlehem believed by Christians to be the messiah |
| Gospels | Account of Jesus’ life and teachings contained in the bible |
| Messiah | A belief found in both Christianity and Judaism that Yahweh/god will send a savior |
| Baptized | christian ritual which symbolizes a person being welcomed to the religion |
| Disciples | A small number of men who were Jesus' followers |
| Parables | Short stories with simple moral lessons taught by Jesus Christ |
| Crucifixion | A method of execution where a person is hung from a cross. Christians believe that Jesus’ crucifixion forged them of their sins |
| Resurrection | The christian belief that Jesus rose from the dead after his crucifixion |
| Saul/Paul | Originally an enemy of Jesus teachings; covert to Christianity and become one of its most successful missionaries |
| Missionary | People who work to spread Jesus message |
| Roman Empire | Rulers of Palestine during Jesus's life. Persecuted Christians in an attempt to destroy the religion |
| Constantine the Great | Roman emperor who after a major military victory gave Christians the freedom to practice their religion with fear of persecution |
| Theodosius the Great | Roman emperor who made Christianity the official religion of the roman empire |
| Bible | The christian sacred text that contains their beliefs |
