Syllabic patterns

Iambic Indicates a unstressed, stressed syllable pattern

Trochaic Indicates a stressed, unstressed, syllable pattern
Foot A metrical unit composed of both stressed and unstressed syllables
Anapest Indicates a unstressed, unstressed, stressed syllable pattern
