| Phase 1 -Symptoms - What is the problem? | A social class is upset with the leaders and the policies they imposed.There is also a corrupt government or leader who needs money.The intellectuals begin to speak out about the situation. |
| Phase 2- The Rising fever- Things get worse. | There is a breakdown in the government. The class that is upset protests. The government tries but fails to stop it. The protestors are able to get old leaders to step down and replace them with new government. |
| Phase 3- Crisis-Things get even worse before getting better. | There are people who are still upset so they violently overthrow the old and the new moderate government and punish anyone who opposes their new radical policies and laws. |
| Phase 4- Convalescence -Things get better and return to normal. | The old government is overthrown. The new one is put into place and things go back to normal. |
