heeling command

put the steps of training your dog to heel in order

QuestionAnswer
1 start off briskly saying "heel" in a firm voice
2 pull back with a sharp jerk if he lunges ahead
3 if he lags, repeat the command and tug on the leash, not allowing him to drag ahead
4 after the dog has learned to heel, practice healing without a leash
5 have it ready to snap on as soon as he wanders
6 most dogs like to stop and sniff, be kind enough to stop and wait for your dog when he finds it necessary to pause
