| Citizens | people of a country that have rights |
| Bicameral | two-part legislature (2 houses) |
| Chief Executive | runs day-to-day operations of the government |
| Political Party | a group of people who all believe the government should be run on certain principles and policies |
| Prime Minister | he most common title for the chief executive in a parliamentary democracy |
| Chancellor | the chief executive in Germany |
| Legislative Branch | group that makes laws in a country |
| Executive Branch | people who carry out or enforce the laws |
