Landmark or Symbol
Statue of Liberty This landmark celebrates America's victory against Great Britain in the Revolutionary War.
Grand Canyon This landmark is 6,000 feet deep.
Gateway Arch This landmark honors Jefferson's idea to expand westward.
Lincoln Memorial This monument honors our 16th president.
Washington Monument This is the tallest building in Washington, D.C.
Hoover Dam This landmark was built to control flooding of the Colorado River.
Mount Rushmore This landmark honors four presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt.
Liberty Bell This was rung when Congress first signed the Declaration of Independence.
Bald Eagle This symbol was chosen because of its long life and strength.
US Flag Its 13 stripes stand for the orignal 13 colonies, and its 50 stars stand for the current 50 states.
