| Net Force | the combining of forces when two or more forces act on an object. |
| Instantaneous speed | the speed at any given point - what shows up on your speedometer |
| Velocity | the speed of an object and the direction of its motion. |
| Acceleration | rate of change of velocity over time |
| Work | the transfer of energy that occurs when a force makes an object move |
| Power | the amount of work done in a certain time; the rate at which work is done |
| Gravity | the attraction two objects have on one another |
| Weight | The pull of gravity on an object, changes with the location of the object. Measured in Newtons |
| Newton's 2nd Law | A net force acting on an object causes the object to accelerate in the direction of the net force. |
| Newton's 3rd Law | every action has an equal and opposite reaction |
| Distance | how far an object has moved. |
| Speed | the distance an object travels per unit of time |
| Average speed | total distance traveled divided by total time traveled |
| Positive acceleration | when an object speeds up |
| Negative acceleration | when an object slows down |
| Force | A push or pull on an object |
| Balanced Forces | forces that are equal in size and opposite in direction |
| Unbalanced Forces | forces that are not equal in size and opposite in direction. |
| Newton's 1st Law | an object will move at a constant velocity until a net force acts on it. |
| Friction | resistance to motion when two objects are in contact with one another |
| Air resistance | resistance an object feels when travelling through the air |
| Mass | The amount of matter in an object, stays constant no matter where the object is. Measured in g, Kg, etc |
