QuestionAnswer
What law was passed with the Proclamation of 1763? In other words, what did the proclamation of 1763 say? It ordered colonists to leave the Ohio River Valley. Nobody could visit there in the future either.
What was the Stamp Act? The Stamp Act was taxes taxed on business and legal papers.
How did colonists react to the Stamp Act? They tarred and feathered the tax collectors out of indignation.
What does it mean to "boycott" something? Refuse to buy.
What were the colonists dressed as while participating in the Boston Tea Party? Mohawk Indians.
What was the purpose of the Boston Tea Party? Why was it organized? To get revenge on the British, and show them that the colonists did not want their high taxes.
What did the British do in response to the Boston Tea Party? The British closed the port to Boston.
Tell the story of the Boston Massacre from the point of view of a British soldier. The colonists were telling us to shoot, and threw stuff like clubs, snowballs, etc. They wanted us to fire, and some of us fired from hearing others fire. Some of it was out of pure self-defense on our behalf.
What was the purpose of the First Continental Congress? To decide action to take against England.
What was decided by the First Continental Congress? It was decided that a Declaration of Rights was sent to the king of England right away.
What happened at the Battle of Lexington and Concord? Why is the battle so important to the American Revolution? British wanted to take colonists weapons, and they wanted to make them weaker. The battle made the U.S have the Declaration of Independence occur.
What did the Second Continental Congress sign into effect on July 4, 1776? Declaration of Independence to America.
What was the purpose of the Declaration of Independence? To have Freedom for the colonists, and no control from England.
(BRITISH) Know the advantages of the British and Colonial forces during the Revolutionary War. British: They had well trained soldiers, expert leaders, and the finest Equipment. They had Native Americans on their side. They also had enough money to pay other countries to fight for them.
(COLONISTS) Know the advantages of the British and Colonial forces during the Revolutionary War. Colonists: They had snipers. They had people to warn them that the British were coming, they had a strong leader - George Washington. They also knew where to hide because they were fighting on their own land.
What group of people teamed up with the Colonists to help defeat the British? The French.
What two important things did the Treaty of Paris outline? 1. New Boundary up to Canada over to Mississippi River, but no Florida. 2. Independence from Great Britain.
