US History

TermDefinition
Ratify Sign or give formal consent to (a treaty, contract, or agreement), making it officially valid.
Confederation An organization which consists of a number of parties or groups united in an alliance or league.
Rebellion An act of violent or open resistance to an established government or ruler.
Arsenal A collection of weapons and military equipment stored by a country, person, or group.
Framers A person who shapes or creates a concept, plan, or system.
Convention A large meeting or conference, especially of members of a political party or a particular profession.
Compromise An agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions.
Electoral College (in the US) a body of people representing the states of the US, who formally cast votes for the election of the president and vice president.
Federalist A person who advocates or supports a system of government in which several states unite under a central authority.
Anti-Federalist A person who opposed the adoption of the U.S. Constitution.
Ratification The action of signing or giving formal consent to a treaty, contract, or agreement, making it officially valid.
