How many types of Muscles are found in the body? Three
Smooth Involuntary as they are not under our conscious control. They remain unstrained and do not fatigue. They can work without oxygen
Cardiac Involuntary as it is not under our conscious control. They have some striations and do not fatigue. Oxygen dependant.
Skeletal Voluntary as it is under our conscious control. They have striations and they fatigue. Can work with or without oxygen.​
Muscles Located in the arm Biceps and Triceps
Muscles located in the leg Quadriceps, Hamstrings & Gastrocnemius
Muscle located in the chest Pectorals
Muscle located in the stomach Abdominals
Muscle located in the neck Trapezius
Muscles that work in pairs are called - Antagonistic pairs
The muscle that contracts is called - Agonist
The muscle that relaxes is called - Antagonist
Slow Twitch Fibre Characteristics Resistant to fatigue/contract slowly/produce less force
Type 1 Performance Training at low intensity / Higher reps
Fast Twitch Fibre Characteristics Fatigue Easily, Contract fast, Produce great force
Type 2 Performance Training at high intensity/ Lower reps
