The Conquest of new Spain / Treaty of Tordesilla

The treaty of Tordesillas Divided the "New world" of the Americas between Spain and Portugal
Spain and Portugal divided the New World by drawing a north-to-south line of demarcation in the Atlantic Ocean
Portugal claimed all lands east of the divide line
Spain claimed all lands west of the divide line
The results of this treaty are still evident throughout the Americas today. all Latin American nations are predominantly Spanish-speaking countries.
Brazil is not a predominantly Spanish-speaking country. the eastern tip of Brazil falls east of the line of demarcation settled upon in the Treaty of Tordesillas

the Treaty of Tordesillas completely ignored the millions of people already living in established communities in the Americas.
The treaty stipulated any lands with a “Christian king” would not be colonized.
And they got away with all the horrible things they did Because by that time Christianity had not spread broadly in the Americas.
The conquistadors hoped to find Gold, Silver, and Pearls
when the conquistadors broke into a fight with locals they found... gold, well-built masonry, blood-covered altars, and strange idols
in a peaceful trade, the conquistadors offered glass beads and other trinkets for.. food like maize cakes and pineapples, as well as a few items made of gold.
When battles ensued with natives The conquistadors cavalry, steel, and gunpowder weapons proved an invincible combination compared to the natives arrows and slings.
Aguilar A Spaniard who had been adopted by a local tribe, proved to be a great find as an interpreter.
Totonacs A tribe the conquistadors made allies with, They wanted to see the down fall of the Aztecs
The Tlaxcalans spilled all the secrets of, aztec battle strategies and their hiding places of all the city's gold and silver, to the conquistadors
