Primary and Secondary Sources

What are examples of Statics primary sources? census data, population statistics, weather records
What are examples of Text primary sources? letters, diaries, original documents, legal agreements, treaties, maps, laws, advertisements, recipes, genealogical information, sermons/lectures
Primary Source Primary sources are original records of the political, economic, artistic, scientific, social, and intellectual thoughts and achievements of specific historical periods
Secondary Source Accounts that retell, analyze, or interpret events, usually at a distance of time or place.
What is the benefit of using a primary source Primary sources offer a variety of points of view and perspectives of events, issues, people, and places.
Autobiography an account of a person's life written by that person.
Biography an account of someone's life written by someone else.
