| Writ of assistance | a general search warrant issued by superior provincial courts to assist the British government in enforcing trade and navigation laws. |
| Resolution | the act or process of resolving |
| Effigy | an often life-size sculptural representation of a specific person, or a prototypical figure |
| Boycott | a collective and organized ostracism applied in labor, economic, political, or social relations to protest practices that are regarded as unfair. |
| Repeal | A repeal is the removal or reversal of a law |
| Rebellion | an act of violent or open resistance to an established government or ruler. |
| Propaganda | information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. |
| Committee of correspondence | longstanding institutions that became a key communications system during the early years of the American Revolution |
| Minuteman | a small hand-picked elite force which were required to be highly mobile and able to assemble quickly. |
| Loyalist | a person who is loyal; a supporter of the sovereign or of the existing government, especially in time of revolt |
| Patriot | a person who loves his or her country and is ready to boldly support and defend it |
