Celiac trunk supplies Esophagus, stomach, spleen, liver, gallbladder, part of duodenum, part of pancreas
SMA supplies uncinate process of pancrease, Jejunum, Ilium, Cecum & appendix, ascending colon, most transverse colon
IMA supplies distal end of transverse colon, descending colon, sigmoid colon, rectum
Inferior mesenteric v. drains into splenic v.
splenic & superior mesenteic vv. join to form Hepatic portal v.
L. gastric v. drains directly into portal vein
blood from digestive tract & spleen passes through liver
All organs receiving blood from celiac trunck get prepanglionic sympathetic innnervation from greater splanchnic n. (T5-T9)
All organs receiving blood from superior mesenteric a. get preganglionic sympathetic innervation from lesser splanchnic n. (T10-T11)
All organs receiving blood from inferior mesenteric a. get preganglionic sympathetic innervation from lumbar splanchnic nn. (L1-L2)
All abdominal organs which receive blood from branches leaving aorta at L2 or higher get parasympathetic innervation from vagus nn.
All abdominal & pelvic organs which receive blood from branches leaving aorta at L3 or below get parasympathetic innervation from pelvic splanchnic nn. (S2-S4)
