6th grade Types of Government

TermDefinition
Communism The government owns all businesses and farms
Republic Led by representatives of the voters
Constitutions/monarchy We’re parliament, and the monarch rule together under the law
Theocracy Form of government, where the rulers claimed to be ruling on behalf of a set or religious ideas
Oligarchy Consist of rule by an elite group, who rule in their own interest
Democracy The government is elected by the people
Fascism A strong centralized government with stringent, social and economic control
Socialism The government on many of the larger industries
Dictatorship Ruled by a single leader, who has not been elected, and may use force to keep control
Capitalism Free market economy
Feudalism Peasants and vassals serve a powerful Lord, who protects them, and takes care of their economic needs
