| Boycott | To boycott means to stop buying or using the goods or services of a certain company or country as a protest |
| Rebellion | an outbreak against authority |
| Committee of correspondence | Committees of correspondence were emergency provisional governments set up in the 13 American colonies in response to British policies leading up to the Revolutionary War (also known as the American Revolution) |
| Loyalist | technical definition- a person who remains loyal to the established ruler or government, especially in the face of a revolt unit definition- a colonist of the American revolutionary period who supported the British cause. |
| Petition | a formal written request, typically one signed by many people, appealing to authority with respect to a particular cause. |
