social structure Based on occupations (jobs) that they had
Pharaoh A king of ancient Egypt, considered a god as well as a political and military leader.
Mummification The preservation of dead bodies by embalming and wrapping them in cloth for the afterlife
Ka, Ba, Akh Eternal spirits that need to return to the body for the afterlife that is why the body is not destroyed
pyramid The main purpose of the pyramids of Egypt was to function as a tomb for the pharaohs
Tutankhamen Pharaoh of Egypt around 1358 BC, youngest pharoh, restored old gods, died at an early age
Heiroglyphics Ancient Egyptian writing system using picture symbols for ideas or sounds
Papyrus A long-lasting, paper-like material made from reeds
Sphinx An imaginary creature with a human head and the body of a lion that was often shown on Egyptian statue
Nubians People south of Egypt that expanded up and conquered Egypt/adopted some of Egyptian's practices
