TermDefinition
Accountability: taking responsibility for one’s actions
Alien: non-citizen; person in the country with permission of the government
Citizen: member of a state or nation who owes allegiance to the gov’t and is entitled to protection.
Courtesy: showing respect and being polite to others
Diverse: different
Duty: task citizens are required to perform.
Responsibility: taking care of what you are supposed to without reminders
Honesty: to tell the truth
Immigration: moving from one country to another to live permanently.
Jury: body of citizens selected to evaluate evidence.
Naturalization: legal process for becoming a citizen.
Patriotism: showing pride and respect for one’s country
Respect for the Law: follow the laws/rules set by the government or those in charge
Respect for Others: allowing others to make their views known
Self-Reliance: being able to care for and and do things for oneself
Trustworthy being able to be relied upon
Vote: a choice that gets counted.
14th amendment: change to the constitution defining citizenship and ensuring state due process.
