Civic Literacy Module 4 Lesson 1 Key Terms

TermDefinition
Executive Order A rule or order issued by the President that has the force of law.
Recession When the economy is in a downfall for six or more consecutive months.
Governor The head of the state executive branch.
President The head of the United States executive branch.
Economy The use of resources within a country, especially the flow of money and rate of employment.
Cabinet The heads of the 15 United States executive departments that are appointed to advise the President.
Council of State The heads of the 9 North Carolina departments that are appointed to advise the Governor.
