Multiple-Tier Timelines

TermDefinition
single-tier timeline show events related to a specific topic or perspective
multiple-tier timeline two or more rows of events, with each row representing a different topic or perspective
pattern when events follow predictable, repeatable steps
theme when events can be grouped based on similarities
cause and effect when one event causes or influences another event to occur.
chronological order the order in which events occurred
tier a row, usually arranged as part of a series with one row, or tier, above another
