Triple bottom line 1994 by John Elkington. Companies should be preparing three bottom lines: 1. Corporate profit, 2. For people, and 3. For the planet. Intended to measure the financial, social and environmental performance of a corporation over a period of time.
Carrying capacity 1st used in 1845 by U.S. Secretary of State James Buchanan then Ian McHarg in his book Design with Nature. Idea is to discuss the max pop and employment carried w/in a particular community given the availability of food, water, shelter, habitat, etc.
