South America Vocabulary

Domesticate To change the growth of plants or behavior of animals in ways that are useful to humans.
Predictable A synonymy to expected
Nomads A person who moves from place to place without a permanent home.
Andes A mountain range that runs along the western edge of South America
Promoted To help bring about. (past-tense)
Terraces A strip of level land cut into a mountain slope that is planted with crops.
Multiple The result of multiplying one number by another
Quipu A record-keeping device made of knotted strings, used by Incas.
Precision A synonymy to accuracy.
Hierarchy A system for ranking members of a group according to their importance.
Ayllu An Incan Society , or group of related families that pooled it resources to meet people's needs.
Mita System An Inca system of payment of taxes with labor.
