| Developing Country | Poorer country with less advanced economy, industrialization, technology |
| Dynasty | A family if rulers |
| Gandhi | Leader of India through non-violent independence movement |
| Hinduism | A major polytheistic religion of the Indian subcontinent believing in reincarnation, a caste system, and avoiding violence |
| Monsoon | A seasonal wind that blows across continent and brings about great amounts of rain |
| Non-violent Protest | A peaceful way to solve problems |
| Polytheism | Belief in more than one god |
| Population Density | The average number of people who live in a unit of area such as a square mile-- measures how crowded an area is |
| Reincarnation | Hindu belief, that after death, the soul is reborn into a new body |
| Silk Road | 4,000 mile long ancient trade route that linked East Asia with the Mediterranean |
| Subcontinent | Large landmass that is a part of a continent but has its own geographic identity (India) |
