Coal In high demand due to the rise of locomotives.
Deforestation As houses and press grew, More lumber was needed resulting in large amounts of deforestation.
Gibbons v. Ogden The court reinforced states power over trade and regulating it.
Peter Cooper Built the thumb and showed the power of locomotives by nearly beating a horse carriage before it broke down.
Railroad Industry A large industry that a lot of states used to make their cities larger.
Robert fulton created the Clermont in france and showed locomotive power.
Steamboat A steam engine built into a boat to make it faster. Was also popular along steam trains.
Steel Used for train tracks and for building factories.
Cyrus McCormick Developed the mechanical reaper.
Isaac Singer created sewing machines and allowed people to buy them on credit.
Morse Code Different combinations of dots and dashes to create a alphabet and talk to people over large distances.
Telegraph Using morse code, the telegraph was a machine that transported electricity over wire and made dots and dashes to talk to other users of the device.
