QuestionAnswer
Stamp Act The tax created by Parliament making the colonists pay for all legal documents/pieces of paper, (important because it was the first example of colonists not being willing to submit to the British taxes)
Declaratory act An act that gave Parliament the power to make laws and changes for the colonial government and gave them the power to tax the colonists.
Townshed Acts A group of acts that indirectly taxed the colonists for commerce and imports (named after Charles Townshed, the Chancellor of the Exchequer)
Boston Massacre A certain brawl between the British military in Boston and the citizens which led to the troops shooting at the crowd, three civilians were killed at the scene and two died after the incident
Tea Act This act was not a tax; it propped up the British East Tea Act (1773) India Tea Company, made the tea directly shipped to the colonies and sold at a bargain price
Boston Tea Party Where the colonists, disguised themselves as Indians and snuck aboard the British tea ships where they dumped 342 crates of tea overboard (important because it showed active and public disapproval of Parliament and the king)
Intolerable Acts These acts were the laws that restricted the colonists' civil rights (including trial by jury) (important because it lead to the First Continental Congress)
