U.S. Constitutional Amendments

| 1st Amendment | Freedom of speech, press, assembly, petition, and religion. |
| 2nd Amendment | The right to keep and bear arms. |
| 3rd Amendment | No solder shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner. |
| 4th Amendment | The right against unreasonable searches and seizures. |
| 5th Amendment | The right to a grand jury, forbids double jeopardy, and protects against self-incrimination. |
| 6th Amendment | The right to a speedy and public trial. |
| 7th Amendment | The right to a jury trial. |
| 8th Amendment | Prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, excessive fines, and excessive bails. |
| 9th Amendment | Peoples' rights exist outside of the ones explicitly mentioned. |
| 10th Amendment | The balance of power between the federal government and states. The amendment says that the federal government has only those powers specifically mentioned in the constitution. |
| 11th Amendment | Prohibits the federal courts from hearing certain lawsuits against states. Lawsuits brought against a state have to be tried in a state court, not a federal court. |
| 12th Amendment | Provides the procedure for electing the president and vice president. |
| 13th Amendment | Abolishes slavery in the U.S. |
| 14th Amendment | Grants citizenship and equal civil and legal rights to anyone born in the U.S. |
| 15th Amendment | The right of citizens of the U.S. to vote. |
| 16th Amendment | Allows Congress to levy tax on income from any source without spitting it among the states. |
| 17th Amendment | The right for people to vote for their senators. |
| 18th Amendment | Prohibits the transportation, sale, and manufacturing of alcoholic drinks. |
| 19th Amendment | Gives women the right to vote in the U.S. |
| 20th Amendment | That if the president dies before their term ends, the vice president becomes the president. |
| 21st Amendment | Legalizes the manufacturing, sale, and transportation of alcoholic drinks. |
| 22nd Amendment | Limits an elected president to two terms in office. |
| 23rd Amendment | Extend the right to vote in the presidential election to citizens residing in the district of Columbia by granting the district electors. |
| 24th Amendment | Abolishes the poll tax and literacy tests. |
| 25th Amendment | How to replace the president encase of disability. How to replace the vice president. |
| 26th Amendment | Lowered the voting age to 18. |
| 27th Amendment | Deals with pay raise or decrease for members of Congress. The raise cannot go into effect until reelection time. |
