Physical Adaptations Changes to an organism’s body that make it easier for them to survive external pressures. *These do not happen during any 1 lifespan, but over many generations*
Behavioral Adaptations Changes to the way an organism lives their life that make it easier for them to survive environmental pressures.
Paleolithic Age/Era The Old Stone Age (2.5 million years ago) Homo habilis created the first stone tools There were 2 critical characteristics of the Old Stone Age: They lived as nomadic hunter-gatherers. They used stone to build their tools
Biped/Bipedal An animal that walks on two feet
Nomad/Nomadic A person without a permanent home, always moving around following their food source
Migrate To move from one region or environment to another
Hominin All modern humans and extinct ancestors
Neolithic Age/Era The New Stone AgeHomo Sapiens still make stuff out of stone. Lived in permanent shelters and communities, and also planted crops and domesticated animals.
Specialization when people focus on doing one job (weavers, farmers, basket makers, toolmakers, pottery makers, jewelers, hunters, traders, etc.)
Domesticate (animals & plants) means to make a wild animal or plant useful to humans. (to do work or to eat)
