Soccer Test Review

Goalie The only player on the field that can use their hands and/or punt the ball
Fullback Defense
Halfback (Midfield) Offense/defense
Forward Offense
Kickoff Used to start the game and after a goal is scored. Ball must be passed forward across the midfield line to a teammate to begin.
Throw-in Used to put the ball back into play after the ball is kicked out of bounds over the sideline. Two hands are on the ball and the ball goes behind your head before releasing. Both feet must remain in contact with the ground.
Corner kick Used when the DEFENSIVE team kicks the ball out of bounds over the endline
Goal Kick Use when the OFFENSIVE team kicks the ball out of bounds over the endline
Goal Worth 1 point. The ball must cross the goal line between the two posts.
Stretching Used to prevent injuries and increase flexibility/range of motion
Push-ups Used to increase upper body muscular strength
Curl-ups (Sit-ups) Used to increase abdominal strength
Mile run Used to increase aerobic cardiovascular endurance. Some example of aerobic exercises are biking, swimming, rollerblading, ice skating, etc.
Agilities Used to increase speed and move more quickly with ease. These are anaerobic exercises. Ex: Scissor jumps, sprints, ski jumps, etc.
Aerobic Means WITH OXYGEN. Performed for a long period of time without stopping.
Anaerobic Means WITHOUT OXYGEN. Lasts short periods of time.
