convention a formal meeting.
dictator a ruler who does not answer to the people.
rights freedoms
delegate someone who represents other people.
republic citizens choose leaders to represent them.
petition make requests of the leaders or government.
siege is the surrounding of a place by enemy forces trying to capture it.
non-combatants people who were there, but did not fight in the war.
preserve means to keep in its original state.
scout a person who gathers clues about an enemy or location.
retreat leave the battlefield and not fight.
scrape a tricky situation or a problem.
treaty is a formal agreement between two countries.
monument a structure built to show respect for a past event.
term is the time a person serves in office after each election.
economic it relates to money and paying bills,
debt money owed to others.
