People of Tennessee

Who is David Crockett? He was a trapper and hunter who did not agree with Jackson's ideas. He wanted people to go west.
Who is William Blount? He was the governor of the Southwest Territory. He helped Tennessee to become a state.
Who is John Sevier? He was Tennessee's first governor, but he wanted it to be called Franklin.
Who is Sam Houston? He was governor of Tennessee while Jackson was president. He later went to live with the Cherokee.
Who is James Polk? He was a president from Tennessee. He supported Jackson even though he fought with the Cherokee.
Who is Andrew Jackson? He was president and signed the Indian Removal Act which made the Trail of Tears.
Who is Sequoyah? He made the first Cherokee alphabet.
Who is Nancy Ward? She was a Cherokee who wanted peace with the white settlers.
Who is John Ross? He was a Cherokee chief who had a trading post in Chattanooga. He led the Cherokee on the Trail of Tears.
