Bicameral Legislature a legislature consisting of two parts, or houses
Terms Time the elected official will serve
Recess Break in a session
Constituents a person from a legislators district
Incumbent a politician who has already been elected to office
Reapportionment Reassigning seats in the house
Gerrymandering an oddly shaped election district designed to increase the voting strength of a particular group
Caucus a meeting of political party member to conduct party business
Calendar means of keeping track of Congressional business
Filibuster a tactic for defeating a bill in the senate by talking until bills sponsor withdraws
Cloture a procedure used in the senate to limit debate on a bill
Adjourn Bring the session to a close
