Around what time did tribes start to form? What led to early people settling in tribes? around 3000 BC; people started to plant crops and settle down in one area
What was special about the counting system of the Olmecs? They created the 365 day calendar that we follow today
Why were rivers important to the Olmecs? they let them travel from city to city and it resulted in trade system
What is left of the Mayan Civilization that can still be visited today? large stone cities
How did the Mound Builders Civilization get its name? the societies all built large earth mounds
Describe the homes of the Ancient Puebloans. homes were built into canyon walls and had many levels
Explain the Beringia Theory (Land Bridge Theory). mention: glaciers, crossing the Bering Strait from Asia to Alaska, and that the 1st people to come across ended up being the ancestors of Indigenous People
