Prince Henry Leader of Portugal, known as the Navigator.
Ferdinand and Isabella Leaders who encouraged Spain to explore other countries.
New World The area of the Americas that was explored during the Age of Exploration.
Americas Also known as the New World, where present day America and Canada are located.
Astrolabe Technology that uses the stars and planets to tell the location of a ship.
Compass Device that uses magnetism to show direction with a needle and a dial.
Caravel Technology that allowed for greater speed and allowed the captain to steer the ship.
