TermDefinition
Philosophy The study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence.
Logic The science of the formal principles of reasoning.
Reasoning The process of thinking about something in a logical way in order to form a conclusion or judgment.
Inductive Reasoning This is the reasoning used to develop an actual theory and moves from specific observations to broad generalizations.
Deductive Reasoning This reasoning moves from a broad theory to specific observations that may support or counter that theory.
Aesthetics The branch of philosophy concerning the principles of beauty and artistic taste.
Epistemology he branch of philosophy focused on investigating what distinguishes belief from opinion.
Metaphysics The branch of philosophy focused on abstract concepts such as being, knowing, and cause.
