What was the name of the battle in which the German and British Air Force fought? The Battle of Britain
What was the Neutrality Act? It banned the sale of military goods to foreign countries.
How did FDR work around the Neutrality Act? He signed the Good Neighbor policy.
What ultimately led the United States to enter World War II? The attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan.
Why did FDR call December 7th , 1941 a day that will live in infamy? He was saying that the attack should always be remembered.
What does the term rationing mean? It means limiting the amount of certain goods that people ca buy.
What items were rationed during World War II? clothes, sugar, coffee, gas, and meat
How did women help out in the war effort? They did men's jobs and looked out for sabotage.
Who was Rosie the Riveter? Rosie was a women that worked in a factory
What did Rosie the Riveter symbolize? Rose symbolizes women strength.
What happened to the Japanese-American citizens during World War II? Japanese-American citizens were moved to relocation camps.
Why was Stalingrad a turning point in the war? It was Hitlers biggest mistake because his soldiers were trapped ad Stalin turned on Hitler
What happened during Operation Overlord? Operation Overlord was the invasion of France
What was the Battle of Bulge?
What does V-E day stand for? Victory in Europe
What does V-J day stand for? Victory over Japan
How did the United States work their way towards Japan? They used the 3 ships that were not ruined from the attack on Pearl Harbor and went one Island at a time
What was the Manhattan Project? It was a secret plan to build an atomic bomb.
What did the Potsdam Declaration do? It warned Japan to surrender
What two cities were hit with Atomic Bombs? Hiroshima & Nagasaki
What happened during the Nuremberg trials? German and Japanese leaders were put on trial and many were put to death.
