QuestionAnswer
The cities were full of architecture called... palaces, temples and pyramids.
What were some trade goods? salt,flint,feathers, shells,cotton,cloth,objects made of jade, Cacao beans to make chocolate, and foods such as maize, beans, and squash.
How was the government ruled? each city was independent and ruled by a god-king. The government was a theocracy in that the god-king was the leader of both the government and religion.
Who created the city-states? the Mayans created city-states.
What was the social structure in the Mayan Civilization? the top of the social class structure was made up of the best warriors and priests, the middle class was made up of merchants and craft workers, and the bottom class was peasant farmers.
What was a sacrifice the Mayans committed to the gods? the Maya sometimes cut themselves to offer their blood to the gods in sacrifice. sometimes they killed enemies and sacrificed them.
How many calendars did the Mayans create? they developed two calendars; A religious calendar that had 13 twenty day months and the other calendar was based on the sun which had 18 months consisting of 20 days each.
