Aryans Noble people,traditionally refers to any people, irrespective of race, who have a culture based on spiritual values
Dravidians A large family of languages spoken especially in southern India and northern Sri Lanka that includes Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada
Sanskrit the language the Aryan's of India developed to write down their oral religious traditions
Vedas Oral religious traditions of the Aryans that are still used in religious ceremonies in India
Brahman The single supreme force in Hinduism of the reality of the universe, it contains each of the 300,00 Hindu Gods
Trimurti A trinity consisting of Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver, and Shiva the Destroyer
Atman One's essential self that is part of a universal soul, a non-material self
Caste System Social Groups based on your birth, describes your social restrictions, the four different classes were called the Varnas, the priests (Brahmans) the warriors (Kshatriyas) the landowners/merchants/herders (Vaisyas) and servants/peasants (Sudras)
The Untouchables People in India that had jobs that were polluting and unclean, they were deemed untouchable because they were "polluting the people", they had no rights in society
Maya The limited physical and mental reality in which our everyday consciousness has become a part of, an illusion, the Cosmic Spirit also known as Brahman
Reincarnation The Hindu belief that the soul is reborn in various forms, the circle of life and death, the rebirth of a soul in another body
Samsara The process of being reborn into existence as a different person
