Name a major reason people have been able to live in South America's lowlands for thousands of years. Slash and Burn Method provided food and water for the people.
Explain what causes the Atacama Desert to be so dry. The Atacama Desert sits in the rain shadow of the Andes Mountains causing the warm and wet wind currents not to reach the Atacama.
How were natives able to farm on the mountains? The native people terraced the land in the mountains. Terracing means they cut a flat section of land within the mountain, which was good for farming.
Name 2 achievements of the Inca civilization. 1. Irrigation Canals 2. Suspended Bridges
How do greenhouse gasses affect the earth? When too much Carbon Dioxide is released into the air it gets trapped in the atmosphere and causes it to warm up. It then is reflected back to the earth causing global warming.
