| Majority Vote | More than 50% oft he votes. |
| Primary Election | Elections in which members of political parties choose their party’s candidate to run for office in a general election. |
| General Election | Elections in which voters elect, or pick elected officials. |
| Partisan Election | Elections in which candidates are identified with the party next to his or her name. |
| Non-partisan Election | Elections in which candidates are not identified with a party next to their name |
| Political Action Committees | Political organizations that take money from the members of an interest group to make donations to candidates and parties. |
| Voter Registration | Officially adding a person to the list of eligible voters. |
| Voting Districts | Small area created by state or local governments to administer elections. |
| Precinct | A voting district or an area in a county or town containing a specific number of voters. |
| Polling Place | The physical place where you vote. |
| Ballot | A list of candidates from both parties up for election for different offices. |
| Board of Elections | The organization that oversees voter registrations and administers elections. |
| Exit Poll | Questions asked of voters after they have voted to get an unofficial idea of who will win an election. |
| Electoral College | A group of electors who officially elect the president and vice president. |
