1. Ethics- Idea of what is right and what is wrong
2. Torah- The first five books of the Hebrew Bible (Also the Old Testament)
3. Covenant- Binding Agreement
4. Exodus- The escape of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt
5. Commandment- An order to do something
6. Scriptures- Sacred writings
7. Prophet- A person believed to be chosen by God as a messenger to bring truth to the people
8. Rabbis- Religious teachers
9. Talmud- A collection of oral teachings and commentaries about the Hebrew Bible and Jewish law
10. Righteousness- Acting or living in a way that is ethically right and obeys God’s laws
11. Sabbath- A weekly day of rest
12. Judge- Was a leader who could rally the Israelites to defend their land
13. Exile- Separation from one’s homeland
14. Diaspora- Communities of Jews living outside of their Ancient homeland
15. Synagogue- Meeting Place
