Unit 3 Public Policy

Use these games to study Unit 3 vocabulary.

TermDefinition
Policy A plan for carrying out a law or other rule. A plan that the government makes in response to a political issue. A policy is a course of action taken with regard to some problem.
Bill An idea for a law that Congress will decide on
Power of the Purse The power Congress has because they decide how money is spent
Majority Party The political party with the most members in Congress
Minority Party The political party with the fewest members in Congress
Lobbying Trying to influence lawmakers to make laws that are good for certain interest groups
Divided Government A government in which the majority party in Congress is different than the party of the president
Interest Group An organization of people with a shared cause that tries to influence policies
