Social studies vocab

What is Chemical energy? Energy that is stored in chemical bonds and released through chemical reactions.
What is a conductor? A substance that allows the flow of electrical charge or transfer thermal energy through matter
What is Electrical energy? A form of energy made available by the flow of electrical charge through a conductor
What is Energy transformation? Its the change of energy from one form to another.
What is a insulator? A material that does not conduct heat or electrical current.
What is Kinetic energy? it is the Energy of motion.
What is the law of Conservation of energy? Its a Scientific law stating that energy can be neither created nor destroyed but just changes the form.
What is Light energy? It is a form of energy that exhibits wavelike behavior as it travels through space;part of the electromagnetic spectrum .
What is Mechanical energy? A form of energy that is produced by a machine or moving part.
What is Sound energy? It is a Form of energy that is made by vibrations and requires a medium.
What is a System? A system is a group of interacting ,interrelated or interdependent elements forming a complex whole.
What is Thermal Energy? Thermal energy is the total kinetic energy of the tiny particles that make up matter;The faster the particles move,the warmer the matter becomes.
