Manumission The freeing of individual enslaved persons
Proportional Corresponding in size, to the population of each state
Compromise A settlement of a dispute by each party giving us some demands
Federalism Sharing power between the federal and state governments
Legislative Branch Lawmaking branch, of the government
Executive Branch Carry out the nation's laws and policies
Electoral College Elects the president and vice president
Judicial Branch Court system
Check and Balances Each government has ways to check, or limit, the power of the other branches.
