Government

TermDefinition
Executive Branch The Prime Minister, Governor General and The Cabinet belong to this branch.
Legislative Branch The Senate, The House of Commons belong to this branch.
Judicial Branch Judges , Supreme Court, interprets and applies all laws in Canada, including the rights of Canadians.
Supreme Court Highest court in Canada
Senators members of the senate, appointed by Prime Minister
Prime Minister leader of the Canadian government, elected by the people
The Cabinet A group of people that are responsible for different departments of government like finance, health, and environment. They are MPs and work in the HOC.
Members of Parliament elected by the people and work in the House of Commons
Governor General Represents the monarch in Canada. They swear in the Prime Minister and gives the throne speech. They are appointed by PM.
